RESPONSIBILITY ON THE TEAM
As the Research Manger for Grubb & Ellis|The Furman Co., Brian is responsible
for database management, market research, and analysis in support of our real
estate professionals and clients. Brian combines expertise in the fields of planning,
economics, and demographics to stay abreast of the dynamics for the Greenville-Spartanburg
office, retail, industrial, and investment markets.
CAREER SUMMARY
Brian has been involved in tracking development trends and patterns in the local
market since 2001. Prior to joining Grubb & Ellis|The Furman Co. in 2005,
he was the Demographic and Economic Planner for the Greenville County Planning
Commission. In addition to providing planning assistance to the cities of Travelers
Rest and Simpsonville, Brian served as an information liaison to local, national,
and international organizations interested in the Greenville market. He is often
cited in The Greenville News as an expert on demographics and local development
trends.
EDUCATION
Appalachian State University awarded Brian a dual-degree BS in both Geography
and Community and Regional Planning. Concentrations while attending the university
included economic development, geographic information systems, and cartographic
design.
PROFESSIONAL COURSES, AFFILIATIONS, INTERESTS
Brian is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and the American
Planning Association. In addition, he has received certification as a Group Facilitator
from the Institute of Cultural Affairs.
Although not native to Greenville, Brian and his family (wife and two daughters)
have fallen in love with the area’s blend of small-town charm and metropolitan
opportunities.
