Jay Michael Hamilton
RESPONSIBILITY ON THE TEAM
Jay serves as the Vice President of the Property Services Division of Grubb &
Ellis|The Furman Co., primarily providing direction, daily operations of property
management, and capital improvement project management, for Greenville clients
of commercial real estate.
CAREER SUMMARY
Starting as Vice President, Jay has been with The Furman Co., Facilities LLC
since September of 2002. Prior to that Jay spent twelve years in Chicago, IL
managing commercial real estate for national as well as local investors. He also
spent eleven years managing public and private sector office buildings in Charlotte,
NC.
One of Jay’s assignments with Trammel Crow Company was to manage a 1,700,000
square foot building in Charlotte, handling daily operational issues, as well
as, major capital improvements.
EDUCATION
Jay is a 1980 graduate from DePaul University, Chicago, IL with a Bachelor of
Science in Finance, and a Minor in Real Estate.
PROFESSIONAL COURSES, AFFILIATIONS, INTERESTS
Jay has been a Certified Property Manager since 1984, and a Certified Facility
Manager from 1998-2001. He is a Real Estate Licensed Broker in North and South
Carolina, and has won national and regional recognition for his work through the
Institute of Real Estate Management and the Builders Owners Managers Association.
Jay has been very active in teen church groups. He is married and has a large
family.
